Other Savings
Babysitting
If you have a family member who babysits for you, then you are very fortunate. As big savings right there. If you don't, then you can try the baby swap. Which is where a friend can watch your child(ren) once in a while. Then you can watch your friends child(ren) once in a while to return the favor.
Hair Cuts
Ask around, if anyone you know or that they may know, that can cut hair. But first make sure there is proof in the pudding, that this person CAN actually cut hair. As you don't need a disaster to happen and end up paying a hair dresser big bucks to fix the mess. Also you really don't want to walk around with choppy looking hair.
Calculators
Always have one handy. Keep one in your purse at all times. You never know when impulse shopping might hit you. Use your calculator to add the taxes before you purchase your item as you may have second thoughts after seeing the whole amount that you actually have to pay for with the taxes included.
Watch for temptation shopping
Try to remember that when out in a mall or shopping altogether, that most if not all stores will have music to set a happy mood for you and you may end up spending more then you expected. Always keep this in mind when you shop. Stores are set up to help you spend your money.
Taxes
Well I don't know to much about taxes as that has been my hubby's department, however I do save all my prescription receipts and save my receipts, if we donate for any organization. Hope this helps.
Tea towels/dish clothes
Save by cutting old towels up for dish clothes. Just keep your good towels for when there's company visiting. Some people say I get right to the nitty gritty when it comes to our dollar. But I just think its common sense to recycle anything. Save your buck. It can be spend on bigger and better things.
Energy Savings
Okay here is the biggie. Purchase a wind generator, very pricy but you save a lot in the end. Then purchase a cycle battery to store your energy, next convert your energy by purchasing a power inverter. This will let you use your household appliances, power tools, television etc. Free! It may seem costly but if you think about how much you pay for hydro. Add up a few years and you will see that this is the way to go. For more information on this visit www.canadiantirepower.com
